ABOUT FUN & A LIL' CHIC BOUTIQUE
The Fun And A Lil' Chic Boutique is owned and operated by a mother and daughter team, which means there's something here for every generation. When you walk in to the FLC, you're immediately greeted by their style-savvy and friendly staff. Your eyes dance from display to display and you wonder where to start first! The FLC carries everything from clothing for both men and women, children's gifts, handcrafted jewelry from local artisans, stunning statement pieces, purses galore, modern and vintage home decor, furniture and local art. But no need to feel overwhelmed! The FLC staff is fantastic at helping customers find that perfect gift , or putting together a chic outfit for a fun night out on the town!
To us, the FLC is more than just a store. It's a positive place where all generations can come and feel welcome. It's a place where you can come have a drink with us on our special event days! It's a place where you can depend on our carefully selected styles. It's a place where it's important to have fun and along the way, be a lil' chic.
We're so excited that through Shoptiques we have the ability to sell online and to share the FLC with customers from all over.
Co-Owner of the FLC
When Laurie was in her twenties, her personal dream to operate her own business was put on hold when she had her first child. Twenty years later and after raising three more kids, Laurie decided she had put her dream on hold long enough and that it was time to open her own business. Thus, the Fun And A Lil Chic Boutique was born.
With the help of her loving family, Laurie turned a shabby old space in downtown Irving, Texas into something beautiful. Her oldest daughter says that her mother's drive and positive attitude has inspired other local businesses to "up their game". Laurie has also become a board member of the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Cara Mia Theatre Company of Dallas because she loves being involved with the community and sharing her creative talent and business instinct.
Laurie always brings a smile, and usually a laugh, to everyone she meets with her super-friendly personality, which is portrayed through her store. She is grateful to be able to share that dream she had years ago with her first child (now 24 years old), who helps her run the shop.
During her second year at the University of Texas at Arlington, Rene's mom had called upon her to help with the new store. Without question, Rene said, " yes". With experience in retail sales and her inherited super-friendly personality, Rene began working at the boutique as a full-time salesperson and manager. She says, "it just goes to show that college isn't for everyone. With support from your family, a little bit of common sense and a lot of drive, anything is possible."
Rene has become Co-owner, Manager and Marketing Director for the FLC. Rene enjoys living out her passion by following the latest fashion trends and serving as a fashion consultant for her clients. She says, " it's fun to get up every day and deal with fashion, manage social media for the store, talk to people, and to be close to my family. It's my dream life."
Rene is also a freelance photographer and graphic artist. When she's not at the shop, she loves taking long road trips, hanging out with her Pomeranian, Foxy (who sometimes lounges at the shop) and watching Netflix marathons. She says that her family is the most important thing in her life and that she is overjoyed to be able to share in her mother's dream.
